Job description

San Luis Valley is seeking part-time and PRN CNA's to join our Conejos County Hospital team. Under supervision this position will complete routine duties in caring for hospitalized patients. Duties may vary depending on assigned area.

Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Colorado CNA license
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively, presenting information and responding to questions from patients, other staff members and groups of managers
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to move quickly and efficiently among various tasks

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Answering call lights
  • Direct care of patients including bathing and oral hygiene
  • Servicing and collecting food trays and feeding patients requiring help.
  • Assisting in ambulation of patients including turning and re-positioning patients
  • Changing bed linens
  • Taking and recording patients vital signs; pulse, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure
  • Recording fluid intake and outtake as directed
  • Cleaning equipment and re-stocking supplies
  • Providing age appropriate care through proper training
