Job description

About the Position

DFW Concrete Pros is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. We are looking for a strong PM who can take ownership of projects from turnover through successful completion.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands commercial concrete construction and civil/site work, can manage multiple active projects, communicate effectively with general contractors and field teams, and keep projects on schedule and on budget.

The right candidate will be organized, accountable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial concrete and civil projects from preconstruction/turnover through closeout
  • Review contracts, plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate upcoming work with field operations
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, and concrete deliveries
  • Work closely with superintendents, foremen, estimators, general contractors, owners, engineers, and other project stakeholders
  • Attend project meetings and represent DFW Concrete Pros professionally
  • Track project budgets, costs, production, quantities, and overall job performance
  • Identify potential cost overruns and schedule issues early and develop solutions
  • Prepare, price, submit, and track change orders
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, documentation, and project correspondence
  • Review drawings and identify scope conflicts, constructability issues, and potential changes
  • Track billing quantities, completed work, and project progress
  • Help ensure projects meet quality and safety expectations
  • Manage project closeout, punch-list completion, and final documentation
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and general contractors
  • Hold yourself and the project team accountable for commitments, deadlines, and results

Required Experience

  • Commercial construction project management experience required
  • Concrete construction experience required
  • Experience managing civil/site work projects
  • Strong understanding of concrete scopes such as foundations, slabs, paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, structural concrete, and related site concrete
  • Working knowledge of civil construction, grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, and site development is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, details, and civil drawings
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and documentation
  • Strong computer and construction software skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to projects throughout the DFW area

What We're Looking For

We want a Project Manager who takes ownership.

You should be someone who stays ahead of the project instead of reacting to problems after they happen. You understand that successful project management means knowing the plans, knowing the contract, communicating with the field, documenting changes, watching the budget, and keeping the customer informed.

We are especially interested in candidates who have worked for a concrete subcontractor, civil contractor, site-work contractor, or similar commercial construction company and understand what it takes to manage work in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience
  • 3+ years of Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager experience
  • Direct experience with commercial concrete and/or civil construction
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working directly with commercial general contractors
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project financials
  • Proficiency with construction project management and scheduling software

Why Join DFW Concrete Pros?

DFW Concrete Pros is growing, and we are looking for people who want to grow with us. With approximately $18 million in contract awards year-to-date, we have a strong backlog of work and need experienced construction professionals who can help us execute at a high level.

This is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, manage substantial commercial projects, and become an important part of a growing construction company.

If you have real commercial concrete and civil construction experience and are ready to take ownership of projects, we want to hear from you.

Company Description

We are a full service concrete contractor. Our projects range from Data Centers, to airports, city streets, retail properties, commercial construction, tilt panel construction, substations, and much more! Our wide variety of services has allowed us to establish relationships with several large GCs who continue to choose to work with us. We do big projects, but our small team and work environment is far from the typical corporate style setting.
