Job description

Concrete Finisher Position

We are looking for a Concrete Finisher to join our team. You must have at least one year of construction experience, preferably working with concrete. Our ideal candidate is proficient with industry tools and must communicate effectively on a team. Because this job is physically demanding, you must have good physical stamina, the endurance to work in all weather conditions, and the strength to lift up to 50 pounds. Essential functions of the job include:

  • Curb machine operator experience is a plus.
  • Framer
  • Working hours are 7:00 am till 5:30 pm Monday through Friday (subject to change due to project demands, weather, etc.), with a lunch break. Must be willing to work overtime, standby, and some weekends.
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • The job entails heavy physical labor, which requires strength and agility. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
  • You may be required to climb, kneel, crouch, twist, lift, carry, drag, balance, push, and/or pull.
  • Must be able to shovel dirt or concrete for long periods throughout the day.
  • All projects are outdoors, in all weather and temperature extremes, and regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, the noise level in the work environment is loud.
  • Must be able to grade out and form for proper thickness and accurate concrete yields.
  • Safety equipment, or PPE, is required to wear at all times, such as hard hats, safety vest, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, back support belts, seat belts, and respirators mask (when cutting concrete)
  • Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance.
  • Must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site and interpret plans, drawings, written instructions, and specifications.
  • Must be capable of working as a team member, especially when using power tools.
  • Must take pride in work and maintain all tools clean by the end of every day.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Proof of work eligibility
  • Transportation to and from the job site
  • Required to pass pre-employment drug test
  • Required to pass background check

On-the-job training (preferable but required) includes:

  • OSHA
  • First aid/CPR
  • Competent person certification
