Job description

Description Operates city concession stands; prepares and sells menu items to be served to guests; maintains concession stand cleanliness; sets up and breaks down concession stand equipment; provides customer service to recreation facility patrons and the general public; responds to routine recreation inquiries; assists with recreation programming and events; works shifts at various facilities to include weekdays and weekend days for day time and evening shifts; performs other related duties as assigned. Examples of Duties Maintains an accurate cash drawer and a clean, organized work area. Reports to work on time as scheduled and in a complete uniform with clothing and appearance neat and clean.

Maintains a well-stocked work area. Cleans and restocks the work area before leaving your shift. Maintains high standards of friendly customer service by greeting customers and helping them with their needs.

Prepares food and beverage items using proper preparation procedures and sanitation guidelines. Enters all transactions into Point of Sale software and gives accurate change to customers. Works in a fast paced environment; stays positive and friendly with customers; remains accurate with cash handling.

Works more than scheduled hours on short notice. Handles cash and inventory efficiently. Follows job procedures and instructions from Concession Stand Manager and Concessions Supervisor.

Performs daily inventory audits. Works weekday and weekend day and evening shifts as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements Must be 16 years of age or older. Must have reliable transportation to and from the various work places. Cash transaction and/or food handling experience preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment Work is performed in and around municipal recreation facilities in extreme temperatures. Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, hot surfaces, steam, sharp objects, wet floors, operating equipment, and lifting of objects up to 30 pounds. Subject to crowded work area with heavy traffic around the concession stand.

Exposure to variable weather conditions, machinery with moving parts, hazardous chemicals, infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and potentially irate members of the public is involved.
