Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a COMSEC Manager to mange our Deployable Communication Team COMSEC. This position will be located in Hampton, Va and will be an onsite position.
Responsibilities
The COMSEC Manager is responsible for the administration, accountability, safeguarding, and operational management of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials, equipment, and associated cryptographic programs in accordance with U.S. Air Force COMSEC instructions, Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, National Security Agency (NSA) requirements, and organizational security policies. Responsibilties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage day-to-day COMSEC operations and oversee COMSEC account administration.
  • Maintain accountability and control of COMSEC material in accordance with applicable Air Force COMSEC guidance and NSA requirements.
  • Perform inventories, audits, reconciliations, and inspections of COMSEC material and equipment.
  • Ensure secure storage, handling, transportation, and destruction of classified COMSEC material.
  • Process, issue, receive, transfer, and destroy cryptographic keying material.
  • Maintain accurate COMSEC records, logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with government customers, security personnel, and program leadership regarding COMSEC compliance and operational readiness.
  • Conduct COMSEC self-inspections and support external inspections or audits.
  • Train and advise personnel on COMSEC procedures and security requirements.
  • Support secure communications equipment management, including encryption devices and key management systems.

Qualifications
High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Proficiency with Simple Key Loaders (SKL) and various Type 1 cryptographic devices. (I.E KG-175. KG-250 series)
  • DoD 8140 compliance IAT II (SEC +, Security X, etc)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Familairty with AFI 33-215, Managing COMSEC Material and AFMAN 17-204, COMSEC Equipment Maintenance and Training

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network/COMSEC infrastructure devices
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
  • Experience with DoD deployed communications
  • Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS Networks
