Job description

A qualified candidate will possess accounting experience along with a foundational understanding of inventory management.

Summary:

The Accounting & Inventory Specialist will assist the Controller and Bookkeeper with accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly accounting entries, account reconciliations, statement review, payroll support and other duties as assigned, as well as ordering & receiving materials & parts, and cycle counting inventory for accuracy.

  Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Process Accounts Payable invoices, process payments and review account statements
  2. Ensure proper filing of payable invoices and disposal of old invoices
  3. Assist Accounts Receivable with billing, cash application and aging review
  4. Will assist entering and maintaining inventory data in our digital inventory
  5. Will assist ordering parts/materials to keep inventory at appropriate levels
  6. Will regularly do cycle counts of current inventory
  7. Assist with month end and year end close 
  8. Complete journal entries and account reconciliations accurately and timely
  9. Provide back-up and support for payroll processing
  10. Assist with prevailing wage reporting and project compliance
  11. Back up receptionist on days off and during busy periods
  12. Maintain vendor files, ensure W9 and insurance information is up to date
  13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  14. Take part in training sessions and workshops as needed
  15. Work with customers and fellow employees in a professional and courteous manner
  16. Other duties as assigned

 

Job Standards:

Level of Education:         High School Education Required, College Education in Accounting Preferred

Level of Experience:       2 – 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting

Abilities and Skills:         Good communication skills, Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Excellent typing skills, Experience with computerized accounting software
