General Summary: We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join the Qualcomm AI Processor Solutions team, where you will help develop next-generation AI applications for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms. In this role, you will work on cuttingโ€‘edge machine learning algorithms and technologies spanning computer vision, multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems, and contribute to research and development of AI applications optimized for accuracy, efficiency, and realโ€‘world performance on Snapdragonโ€‘powered devices. Replacement Position

Responsibilities
  • Stay current with the latest advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and foundation models.
  • Research, develop, and optimize AI algorithms for deployment on Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms.
  • Design and build innovative reference applications showcasing Snapdragon AI capabilities across mobile, edge, XR, and IoT devices.
  • Evaluate and balance hardware and software tradeโ€‘offs to achieve optimal performance, power efficiency, and user experience.
  • Support the implementation, optimization, and commercialization of AI algorithms and applications on Snapdragon devices.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in machine learning algorithms, computer vision, multimodal AI, agentic AI, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Passion for innovation and for building efficient AI solutions on edge devices.
  • Strong software development skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Strong problemโ€‘solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a crossโ€‘functional environment.
  • Familiarity with embedded development, operating systems concepts and software development principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or PhD degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience or publications in the areas of machine learning, agentic AI, computer vision, video/image processing algorithms, NLP or audio/speech processing.
  • Experience developing and deploying AI solutions in realโ€‘world applications.
  • Experience translating AI/ML algorithms into software applications running on edge devices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$131,200.00 - $181,200.00 The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on salesโ€‘incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
