We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join CRB. How will I contribute?

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. Mechanical Interns focus on the design and engineering of HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, fire protection, and other building support systems into the built work environment. Typical tasks and deliverables include load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, schedules, installation details, specification and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.

Core Responsibilities

  • Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards. 
  • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).
Qualifications
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
  • Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
  • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HVAC systems strongly preferred
  • Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, Assemble)
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
