The Business Systems Analyst (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for serving as a bridge between business stakeholders and organizational functions, helping improve processes, systems, and operations through data-driven analysis and effective solution design. This person will identify business needs, gather and document requirements, analyze workflows, support business-critical systems, and recommend solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and align with strategic business objectives.

Specifics Include:

  • Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives

  • Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.

  • Researching business requirements and documenting the relationships between business users, operational processes, data, systems, and reporting needs.

  • Translating business requirements into functional system requirements and process improvements.

  • Analyzing business processes and system workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Performing data analysis to support operational and business decision-making.

  • Developing and maintaining data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Tableau and Excel.

  • Automating data processing and reporting workflows using Alteryx.

  • Partnering with warehouse, supply chain, and business operations teams to support day-to-day system performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Serving as liaison to the Special Operations team and other cross-functional business partners.

  • Supporting system maintenance activities, issue resolution, testing efforts, and implementation of approved enhancements.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business-focused solutions that improve operational performance.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST with flexibility needed based on business needs

  • Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%

  • Location: Onsite

  • Relocation & Sponsorship: Not Available

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field Preferred

  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System, specifically RedPrairie, JDA, or Blue Yonder

  • Experience supporting business operations, distribution, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environments

  • Advanced ability to use Alteryx for data processing, reporting, and automation

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with SQL for data analysis and reporting purposes

  • Experience with data analysis, visualization tools, and creating data visualizations using Tableau

  • Experience gathering business requirements, documenting processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, operations teams, and cross-functional partners
