Senior Energy Systems Analyst III - IVDesign, Support, and Improve Critical Energy Billing and Settlement SystemsGeorgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking a Senior Energy Systems Analyst to provide functional and technical ownership of the applications, data processes, controls, and business rules that support accurate and timely Member billing, energy settlements, contract calculations, and related reporting across the Family of Companies.This role combines business systems analysis, application development, data analytics, and technical leadership to ensure critical energy billing and settlement solutions remain accurate, reliable, scalable, and audit-ready.The Senior Energy Systems Analyst designs, develops, supports, and improves solutions using Excel/VBA, SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, and other appropriate technologies while partnering with Energy Settlements, Data Systems, System Operations, and other stakeholders.This opportunity is ideal for an experienced systems analyst who enjoys solving complex business problems, translating contracts and policies into dependable automated solutions, and driving continuous improvement across mission-critical utility processes.What You'll DoAs a Senior Energy Systems Analyst, you will provide functional and technical ownership of solutions that support Member billing, energy settlements, contract calculations, reporting, and related business processes.You will:Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications and automated solutions for energy billing, settlements, contract calculations, and reporting.Develop and support solutions using Excel/VBA, SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, and other appropriate technologies.Partner with Data Systems on database design, data integration, transfer processing, security, and web-based reporting.Engage users to validate requirements, usability, business controls, data quality, and solution performance.Support recurring billing and settlement activities for OPC, GTC, and Member Systems.Maintain supporting data, applications, calculation logic, and business rules while investigating exceptions and discrepancies.Coordinate issue resolution and deliver accurate billing data according to established schedules.Apply disciplined validation and control processes to reduce the risk of billing errors and protect data integrity.Translate contracts, policies, operational changes, and stakeholder needs into clear functional and technical requirements.Analyze complex data, identify trends and exceptions, and recommend improvements to automation, controls, reporting, and workflow.Apply forecasting, statistical analysis, and other advanced analytical methods, as appropriate, to support operational and strategic decisions.Represent the department in cross-company discussions regarding policy, contract, system, and process changes.Calculate and gather data supporting Control Area Compact bills and other critical contracts, resolve audit-related questions, and respond to Member and management data requests.Provide technical support, training, knowledge transfer, and work review for department applications and processes.Develop and maintain system documentation, business rules, process libraries, validation procedures, and reference guides.Mentor less-experienced analysts and provide feedback to department leadership without exercising direct supervisory authority.What You BringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
