Reports To:  Director of Environmental Services

Schedule:  Full time; primarily Monday through Friday, 2:30p-12:30a with rotating weekends/holidays.  More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

The Environmental Services (EVS) Manager is responsible for leading evening operations in a fast-paced healthcare hospital environment. This role is ideal for an energetic, hands-on leader who thrives in an active setting and brings structure, accountability, and consistency to their team.  The EVS Manager will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant facility while delivering high-quality service. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established standards, and a proactive, "lead from the front" mindset in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate all Environmental Services operations during shift
  • Maintain a highly visible, hands-on presence throughout the shift by continuously rounding, monitoring cleanliness standards, and actively supporting the team-spending the majority of time on your feet, walking the facility, and pitching in as needed to ensure operational excellence
  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 26 FTEs
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Establish workflows, staffing plans, and performance expectations to drive efficiency and consistency
  • Conduct routine rounding, inspections, and quality checks throughout the facility
  • Partner with nursing and hospital leadership to ensure service excellence and responsiveness
  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members
  • Track and manage departmental expenses and support adherence to budget targets
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain operational standards
  • Drive continuous improvement and support facility goals and initiatives
  • Step in and assist operationally as needed to support the team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Environmental Services, housekeeping, facilities, or support services (hospital / healthcare setting strongly preferred) 
  • At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience in hospital or healthcare environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and standards
  • Organized, structured, and "rules-oriented" leadership approach
  • Energetic and hands-on leadership style with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain effective under pressure
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
