Job Title: Enterprise Network Services Manager

Specific Responsibilities
The Manager, Enterprise Network Services for Apache Corporation will lead the design, delivery, and operations of the company's global network infrastructure, supporting corporate offices, data centers, cloud environments and field operations across the Permian Basin and international assets.
This role is responsible for network strategy, architecture, operations, and team leadership, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity aligned with business priorities. The Manager will lead a team of network engineers and analysts while partnering closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and field operations teams.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Enterprise Network Services team
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the team
  • Foster a "Team of Teams" culture aligned with Apache's values
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as the escalation point for critical incidents

Network Strategy & Architecture
  • Define and execute the enterprise network strategy aligned with business and IT objectives
  • Drive modernization initiatives including cloud networking, SD-WAN, and zero-trust architectures
  • Ensure scalable, secure connectivity across corporate, field, and international operations
  • Partner with cybersecurity leadership to align network design with security standards

Operations & Service Delivery
  • Oversee 24/7 network operations ensuring high availability and performance
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure effective use of monitoring, automation, and configuration management tools

Field & Industrial Network Support
  • Partner with field teams to support drilling and production operations
  • Balance reliability, cost, and operational constraints in remote environments

Vendor & Financial Management
  • Manage vendor relationships including telecom providers, hardware vendors, and service partners
  • Oversee network-related contracts, licensing, and support agreements
  • Develop and manage the network services budget, including outlook forecasting and cost optimization
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies aligned with business value and industry standards

Project & Change Management
  • Lead delivery of network-related projects and programs
  • Govern change management processes for maintenance and upgrades
  • Coordinate major maintenance events and outage windows
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise project management standards

Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams
  • Communicate network strategy, risks, and performance to IT and business leadership
  • Support global operations with effective communication across time zones

Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 12+ years of networking experience, including 5+ years in leadership or management roles
  • Proven experience managing enterprise network environments in large organizations
  • Experience supporting Oil & Gas operations, particularly field networking in remote environments
  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong experience with:
      • Palo Alto (Panorama, NGFW, Prisma)
      • Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and data center (Nexus)
      • SD-WAN and software-defined networking
      • Network security architectures (Zero Trust, segmentation)
    • Deep knowledge of:
      • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
      • Firewall technologies (IPSec, SSL, DMVPN)
      • Network performance analysis and troubleshooting
    • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) and packet analysis (Wireshark)
    • Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure/AWS)
    • Experience with NAC solutions (e.g., Cisco ISE)
  • Leadership & Business Skills
    • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and service providers
    • Strong project and program management capabilities
    • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
