Job description

Clinic Laboratory Technician - Certified

UnityPoint Health - Allen 

Shift: Full-time; 930AM – 6PM, 1030AM-7PM, 11AM-730PM; no weekends or holidays

Benefits Eligible 

The Certified Clinic Laboratory Technician position is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses, specimen collection and processing, quality control and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment in the clinic laboratory.

Qualifies as testing personnel under Federal Register 493.1489

  • Performs routine clinic lab testing following proper laboratory procedure and follow up of critical lab values
  • Performs and verifies quality control and instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Collect, receive, and process laboratory samples and send outs following proper laboratory procedures
  • Perform inventory management and other miscellaneous tasks as needed

Education:

  • Associate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
  • or
  • Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
  • MLT, CLA, MLS or MT-ASCP (non regulatory)

Experience:

  • 1 year experience in a clinical lab preferred

Other:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
