Company Description Urban Coders Guild is a pre-college STEM/STEAM program provider focused on building a more diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem. The organization serves Tulsa-area middle and high school students from historically underserved and underrepresented communities. Through equitable access to education and training, Urban Coders Guild helps students explore computer science, IT careers, and tech entrepreneurship. Its programs are designed to be practical, empowering, and future-focused, giving learners real pathways into further education and professional opportunities.

Role Description This part-time Computer Science Instructor role is an on-site position based in Tulsa, OK. The instructor will lead engaging coding and computer science classes for middle and high school students, following established curricula and contributing ideas to enhance lesson plans. Daily responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, delivering lessons, guiding students through hands-on projects, and providing individualized support to learners with different skill levels. The role also involves assessing student progress, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with program staff, and communicating with caregivers or school partners when needed. Instructors are expected to model professionalism, encourage curiosity, and support studentsโ€™ exploration of academic and career pathways in technology.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge in computer science concepts and at least one programming language commonly used in education (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Scratch).
