Job description

Leidos is seeking a talented Junior CEMA Software Engineer in Lawton, OK to join our local development team to create unique solutions for complex problems in engineering, spectrum warfare, and defense domains.
As a Junior CEMA Software Engineer, you will bring your passion for software design and development to design, build, deploy, and maintain mission critical solutions that support our customers' mission objectives.
Our team is primarily in-person in Lawton. Culturally, we place emphasis on trust, respect, asynchronous communication, creativity, and valuing the mission of our customers.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support a team of software engineers in developing offensive and defensive cyber tools focused on radar, C2, surface-to-air, and artillery systems.
  • Develop simulations to emulate threat-representative Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) effects and environments.
  • Research current and future cybersecurity threats against military systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel approx. 10% each year if necessary - moderate travel to testing locations, typically CONUS.
  • Experience with Agile software development, CI/CD toolchains, and DevOps (e.g., Atlassian suite, git, Jenkins, Artifactory).
  • Proficient in Python (OOP) or C++.
  • Experience working as a member of a Scrum team, contributing to iterative development and Agile collaboration.
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Lawton, OK.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Final Top-Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in software architecture and design.
  • Deep understanding of Linux platforms.
  • Experience with Modern C++ (17/20) standards.
  • Understanding of multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience and interest in cybersecurity.
  • Experience and interest in fundamental networking implementations and concepts.
  • Experience and interest in machine learning and data science.
  • Experience with PySide, Qt, or QML for application/UI development
  • Experience with the following tools, concepts, and products is a plus:
    • Ubuntu, Red Hat, Kali Linux, or similar
    • Networking Protocols
    • Wireshark
