Meeting Street is currently looking for a Science Teacher for 40 hours per week. 


Duties:

  • Teach concepts and skills in general science to students in grades 5-8 utilizing courses of study and curriculum adopted by The Grace School 
  • Has knowledge and a strong interest in science
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that consistently contain diverse content throughout the academic year
  • Deep understanding of science concepts and processes taught ability to use this knowledge to analyze students’ scientific thinking and understandings
  • Knowledge of developmental benchmarks (key understandings) in science education
  • Co-teaches at times, with special educator and identifies opportunities to provide for inclusive instruction
  • Collaborate with other educators and specialists in the planning, adaptation and teaching of the curriculum for all students 
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with valid elementary or middle school science certification from RIDE or the ability to obtain 
  • Proficient technological skills for remote learning and day-to-day tasks such as but not limited to Zoom,  Google Classroom, MS Word, etc. 
  • Work environment and physical requirements consistent with those of a typical school environment 
  • Ability to move about the classroom and building continuously throughout the workday
  • Utilize the computer (20%) of the  time and other office equipment
