Job description

Role: Vision Science Researcher

Location: Mountain View, CA

Job Type: Long term contract (12+ months)


About the Role:

BayOne is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Vision Science Researcher to support a leading technology company's User Experience team, with a specialized focus on delivering insights that drive intuitive, innovative, and impactful user experiences.

The User Experience (UX) organization is comprised of multidisciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers who are passionate about creating exceptional user experiences. The team plays a critical role in understanding users' needs, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inform product design. Working closely with design, engineering, and product management, the team develops innovative, user-centered experiences for cutting-edge technologies.


Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of experience in an applied research setting or a similar environment.

• Experience working with 3D meshes and using automation tools (such as Python) to process meshes and generate anthropometric insights.

• Experience conducting usability studies and surveys, along with research spanning human perception of displays and visual content.

• Experience applying anthropometry to inform the design of wearable or other hardware devices.


Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Vision Science, Neuroscience, Computer Vision, Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Electronic Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Bioengineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience conducting UX research on products and partnering with executive leadership (Director level and above).

• 3+ years of experience managing projects in a matrixed organization.

• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, MeshLab, and simulation tools such as Abaqus.

• Experience designing studies and analyzing data using Python, MATLAB, R, or custom software.
