Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst – Cyber Security Operations to join the Cyber Security team. This role supports the broader strategy of Cyber Security by strengthening Pembina’s ability to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats, while advancing automation, AI-enabled security capabilities, and modern security practices.  

Pembina’s Information Services Unit delivers secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that support business performance across the organization. Within Information Services, the Cyber Security team is responsible for protecting Pembina’s enterprise and operational technology environments through effective security monitoring, incident response, risk management, and secure technology enablement. The successful candidate will help safeguard Pembina’s systems, data, and infrastructure while supporting secure, responsible adoption of emerging technologies across the business. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events across enterprise security platforms, leading incident response activities from investigation through recovery;  
  • Perform root cause analysis, develop response playbooks, and continuously improve detection and response capabilities;  
  • Operate and enhance cyber security tools and controls across enterprise and operational environments;  
  • Design and implement automation, orchestration, and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and consistency of cyber operations;  
  • Support onboarding of log sources and ensure appropriate monitoring, visibility, and coverage;  
  • Assess and mitigate cyber risks associated with emerging technologies, including AI-enabled systems;  
  • Partner with IT, OT, architecture, and business teams to embed security into projects and operational processes;  
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend practical security improvements aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements;  
  • Provide mentorship, act as an escalation point for complex incidents, and contribute to team development;  
  • Measure and report on key security metrics (e.g., incident trends, response effectiveness);  
  • Demonstrate Pembina’s values by working in a Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial manner; and  
  • Continuously adapt to emerging technologies by building new skills and applying innovative solutions in a dynamic environment. 
Qualifications:
  • Related, relevant experience in Cyber Security Operations, SOC, or Security Engineering;  
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, cloud security);  
  • Proven experience managing cyber security incidents in enterprise environments;  
  • Experience improving processes through automation, scripting, or orchestration;  
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in cyber security is an asset;  
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), scripting (Python/PowerShell), and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) is preferred;  
  • Experience in Operational Technology environments is considered an asset;  
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GCIA, GCIH) are an asset;  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Security, or equivalent experience;  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex and evolving environments; and  
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies, apply feedback, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Flexible work option available (remote Fridays for eligible employees). 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
