Job description

Systems Administrator
Information Technology
Position Summary:
The System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization. System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. This Systems Administrator role will have a particular focus in Kubernetes.
Outline of Duties:
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of SIA's systems, enterprise storage, and virtualization environments.
  • Deploying and managing containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and infrastructure performance.
  • Drives Kaizen activity, applies statistical and other improvement tools.
  • Leads and/or supports continuous improvement activities to improve functionality.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • VMWare, Microsoft certification (Systems Administration), ITIL certifications
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
