Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Performs biomarker experiments and data analyses using advanced molecular, proteomic, and spatial-omics platforms within the IU Stark Neurosciences Research Institute Biomarker Core.
  • Supports translational research by generating high-quality biomarker data from human and preclinical biospecimens, including plasma, serum, CSF, and tissue, using multiplex immunoassays, digital transcriptomics, spatial profiling technologies, and Protein Quantification platforms.
  • Performs multiplex and single-analyte biomarker quantification.
  • Executes assay setup, calibration, and quality control procedures.
  • Develops and optimizes custom immunoassay panels for novel biomarker detection Spatial Biology and Tissue-Based Analysis.
  • Conducts spatial transcriptomic and proteomic analyses.
  • Helps analyze spatial expression patterns to assess disease mechanisms, treatment effects, and cell-type interactions Digital Transcriptomics and Gene Expression Profiling.
  • Conducts pathway-level and transcriptomic analyses to support biomarker discovery and validation Advanced Biomarker Development and Validation.
  • Processes human and preclinical biospecimens (e.g., plasma, serum, CSF, tissue).
  • Contributes to manuscripts, presentations, and grant applications Compliance, Quality, and Core Operations.
