Summary


We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team at Jorgensen Steel Machining & Fabrication Inc. As a CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing precision components that meet our high standards of quality. Responsibilities


  • Set up, perform tool changes, operate CNC machines and manage offsets to produce precision parts according to specifications.
  • Program CNC machines using Okuma Conversational control for optimal performance.
  • Program and set up lathe milling and drilling operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Work primarily with steel materials and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Contribute to a prototype or similar job shop environment.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect finished products for quality assurance, which includes calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
  • Perform quality checks on all finished products.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and workflows.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Programming with conversational or G-Code.
  • Capability to set up and operate CNC Machinery.
  • Solid understanding of machining processes and techniques.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation skills a must.
  • Possession of a personal toolbox and necessary tools.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Live tooling an Milling wanted but no required.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Familiarity with CAD software is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery safely is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, policies, and instructions.
  • Ability to work alone and/or with team.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand, and twist.
