CNC Programmer
Manchester, CT

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, implementing, and troubleshooting multi-axis CNC programs to support aerospace machining operations. This role collaborates closely with Engineering and Production to optimize machining processes, meet customer requirements, and achieve target cycle times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAD/CAM systems.
  • Create complete machining sequences, flow charts, and documentation.
  • Analyze engineering drawings for material, fabrication, and design requirements.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and tool paths.
  • Ensure programs meet customer geometry and cycle time requirements.
  • Support tool and fixture design improvements.
  • Debug programs and work directly with shop floor and inspection teams.
  • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of multi-axis CNC programming experience in aerospace machining.
  • Experience programming 5-axis and 3+1 machining centers, lathes, mills, and mill/turn equipment.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX (8.5 or later).
  • CGTech Vericut experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, holders, and machining best practices.
  • Ability to debug and optimize programs in a production environment.
  • Grinding and tool design experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
