Job description

Description:

Kalman Manufacturing of Morgan Hill, California is a Silicon Valley leader in high-precision manufacturing with a diverse customer base, ranging from medical to global positioning systems. We work closely with our customers to design, develop, and process plan products from prototypes through production.


  • Assumes responsibility for operating Machining Centers from written and verbal instructions
  • Reviews traveler, set-up instructions, drawings, inspection forms and any other relevant documentation for each job.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions to loads raw material into vises and fixturing.
  • Deburrs in process and completed parts per instructions.
  • Inspects parts per MIR and other relevant documentation.
  • Advises set-up person or lead of any non-conformances or other problems.
  • Performs these tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Makes suggestions to Production Lead & Production Manager regarding potential improvements in part processes as well as the department.
  • Ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and all governmental regulations.
  • Performs other Duties as assigned by the Production Lead and Production Manager.

Requirements:

General Requirements

The Senior Operator position must have the skills and experience to operate machines in a safe, efficient and accurate manner. They must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with other team members ensuring instructions are clear and concise. Because of safety and equipment risk it is important operators are at an appropriate skill level.


Senior Operators should be able to manage a job independently after set up from start to finish with little to no supervision and have the required trouble shooting skills to solve problems before resorting to escalation.




Skills Required

  • Should be High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must have sufficient experience with CNC Machining Centers to operate in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be able to make their own off-sets and understand different off set types
  • Must understand cutter comp
  • Must demonstrate the ability to understand a blue print; comprehend a part and its features from the print
  • Must be able inspect their own work and demonstrate attention to detail when inspecting parts and recognize cosmetic defects. Demonstrate understand the types of cosmetic failures.
  • Preferably Senior Operator candidates will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to use standard measuring tools effectively.
  • Must have adequate math skills.
  • Must be very detailed oriented with good personal organizational skills.
  • Must be familiar with tooling, fixturing, indexers etc.
  • Must be able to complete inspection documentation and determine when parts are out of tolerance.
  • Should be able to train other operators in the process of manufacturing parts.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to lift 70lbs.
  • Should have experience in an ISO 9001 environment, 13485 would be helpful

Our NIght Shift Operators work Monday through Thursday 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM with a PAID MEAL BREAK
