Job description

Responsible for the architecture, implementation, support, monitoring and trouble-shooting of the Firm's LAN/ WAN infrastructure. This includes all Intel servers, network security, remote access, and voice/data communications..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide Tier 3 end user support for more than 1,800 users in 18 or more geographic locations.

  • Support of a Service Level Agreement which articulates uptime and performance commitments to the user community.

  • Establish and maintain system standards - documentation, configuration, and implementation.

  • Establish and maintain standard procedures - performance optimization, backup and recovery, growth planning.

  • Test and evaluate new hardware, software and upgrades as directed by management.

  • Oversee work performed by Network Specialists and Engineers in the areas switching and routing.

  • Act as technical contact for vendors regarding the Firm's networked systems and applications.

  • Design, implement and support system security including Firewall and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

  • Design, implement and support for telephony systems.

  • Design, implement and support for all user remote access methods.

  • Design, implement and support data backup and recovery methodology and processes.

  • Maintains proper documentation on all aspects of the Firm's Infrastructure systems.

  • General understanding of the Firm's software application systems.

  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of pertinent infrastructure software and hardware.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience; equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for education requirement.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Interpersonal communication skills necessary in order to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients and staff in person, by e-mail and telephone.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A demonstrated ability to creatively diagnose and solve complex problems involving hardware, software and end users. A proven ability to lead and build consensus among peers and staff.

The expected annual salary for this position ranges is $120,000-145,000 a year. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to region, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
