Survey CAD Technician

Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid/Onsite)

We are partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm seeking a Survey CAD Technician to support land surveying and civil infrastructure projects.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on mapping, drafting, and translating field data into accurate deliverables, while collaborating closely with survey crews and engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop survey drawings, plats, and mapping deliverables using CAD software
  • Process and interpret field survey data (topographic, boundary, and construction surveys)
  • Assist in producing ALTA surveys, site plans, and utility layouts
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality control of drawings and data
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project teams to meet project deadlines
  • Support revisions, redlines, and updates based on field and client feedback
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and industry standards

Qualifications

  • 2โ€“6+ years of experience in survey CAD, drafting, or related field
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar CAD platforms
  • Understanding of surveying principles, mapping, and coordinate systems
  • Experience working with topographic and boundary surveys
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys or construction staking support
  • Familiarity with GIS, LiDAR, or 3D modeling tools
  • Exposure to civil/site development projects
