Job description

Socrates Academy, a charter school with a focus on partial Greek immersion and the Socratic method, is seeking classroom teachers with strong teaching abilities, an understanding of pedagogy and instructional practices in elementary education, and an enthusiasm for connecting learning to real life application. The Socrates Academy classroom teacher reports to the school leadership team and works closely with his/her grade level team. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with grade level and vertical teams.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Team planning of unit lessons and grade level curriculum
  • Strong understanding and implementation of Common Core and North Carolina Standard Course of Study
  • Student data analysis
