Job Description 

Provides consultation, histology, and diagnostic services to promote discoveries that advance diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, located in the metropolitan Washington DC area, is seeking a full-time ASCP certified Pathologists’ Assistant to manage human cases (Autopsy consults including Clinical Trials) and preclinical animal studies (GLP and non-GLP).

Job Responsibilities 

Position Title: Pathologist Assistant 

Shifts Available: 8-hour Shift, Monday-Friday, Day Shift 

Location: Gaithersburg, MD 

Skills and abilities of a Pathologist Assistant includes:  

  • Case tracking management 
  • Gross tissue dissection 
  • X-rays

  • Organization of lab work for the pathologist

Pathologist Assistant (Healthcare Sciences) 

Job Requirements 

Successful candidates for the Pathologist Assistant: 

  • Candidate must have completed a Pathologists’ Assistant training program (NAACLS) or hold an MS degree in the biologic sciences with a background in gross tissue analysis. 
  • National Certification (ASCP) preferred. 
  • Hands-on laboratory experience required. 
  • Must be well organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must adhere to GLP, CAP, and SOP policies and procedures, as applicable. 
  • Strong computer competence required (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
