Job description

The OHSU School of Nursing (SoN) in Klamath Falls is located on the Oregon Institute of Technology campus. OHSU at Klamath Falls. The program offers a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing degree. The primary purpose of this position is to meet the administrative, technical, and operational learning needs of faculty, staff, and students in the Skills Lab and Simulation learning environments on the Klamath Falls Campus. In collaboration with the Senior Campus Associate program technician and the Simulation Campus Associate program technician, this person is responsible for the setup and cleanup of the supplies and equipment utilized in these learning settings, including restocking supplies, and monitoring supply inventory. This person works in partnership with the Senior Campus Associate program technician, the Simulation Campus Associate program technician, faculty, and the Campus Associate Dean completing tasks as assigned.


Skills lab support - In collaboration with the Senior Campus Associate Program Technician:

  • Prepare and dismantle Skills Lab environments, including moving mannequins, setting up beds, and organizing equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization, including laundry, equipment care, and recycling of reusable materials.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels; notify appropriate personnel when supplies reach approximately 20% of par levels.
  • Conduct routine inventory checks to ensure equipment functionality, maintenance compliance, and warranty tracking.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills-based learning experiences.

Simulation Lab Support - In collaboration with the Simulation Campus Associate Program Technician:

  • Ensure all simulation materials are prepared, clean, and organized prior to scheduled activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of simulation components (e.g., medications, barcodes) as directed.
  • Support setup and breakdown of simulation activities, including cleaning, restocking, and organization.
  • Monitor simulation inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies reach approximately 20% of par levels.
  • Contribute to performance improvement efforts related to simulation-based education.

Administrative Support:

  • Respond to priority requests and adjust workload as needed, keeping leadership informed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and team communications.
  • Collaborate with and support student workers as appropriate. 

  • High school diploma and at least one year of college science plus one year of college math or computer courses and one year of lab aide work experience.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage interruptions and shifting priorities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, leadership, and classified staff 

  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Forms, Word, etc.)

  • Willingness to learn new systems and technologies

  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.


  • Certificate or degree in nursing, nursing assistant, medical assisting, or related healthcare field
  • Experience in higher education environments

  • Experience supporting healthcare or clinical training programs

  • Experience working with faculty and academic programs  environments.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

This position works primarily in an indoor office environment but occasionally needs to move about the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology and Sky Lakes Medical Center. This position may require flexing work hours (come in later during the day to cover late afternoon) and weekend attendance.
