Job Description Summary

Student Life serves as the hub for students at Santa Fe College and is comprised of student activities, student clubs and organizations, civic engagement and service, student government, leadership programs, the Student Engagement Center, international student support and advising, Saints Food Share, the Student Life Business Office, and Student Life marketing. Student Life also provides student-centered services such as access to a recreation room, computer lab, art gallery, ID card services, and holds evening hours.
The Student Activities Office in Student Life is seeking educational aides to support the departmental and college mission and assist staff with event facilitation. This position is generally scheduled for 8 hours per week. Hours may vary weekly based on staff need and class schedule.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Supports events which may include setup and breakdown, accumulating necessary materials, participation in the event with collecting attendance, distribution of materials, hospitality services, and clean up.
  • Runs stations and activities at Student Life events by handing out food and monitoring spin wheel activities, trivia, and crafts.
  • Assists with student activities projects by preparing marketing materials for distribution and/or removal, future event brainstorming, student surveys, and more.
  • Aids in completing special projects and assignments as requested.
  • Collaborates with Student Life staff to complete requested tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Maintains a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with others.
  • Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA.
