Job description

HNI Corporation is a global family of brands for the workplace and home dedicated to enhancing the spaces where we live, work, and gather. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment where we make a positive impact on others; upholding our beliefs in integrity, inclusion and belonging.

Position Summary: The IT Technical & Business Analyst (HRIS and Enterprise Systems) serves as a primary technology partner supporting a portfolio of enterprise Human Resources and business applications. This role bridges the gap between business operations and Information Technology by partnering with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, translating business needs into technical requirements, and coordinating the successful implementation of system enhancements, integrations, and technology solutions.

This position is responsible for business analysis, technical systems analysis, and project coordination for enterprise applications supporting workforce management, learning and development, organizational planning, contract management, and related business processes. The application portfolio currently includes platforms such as UKG/Kronos, HighQ, OrgChart, and Absorb LMS, although experience supporting comparable enterprise applications is equally valuable.

Unlike traditional application administrators focused primarily on front-end configuration and day-to-day administration, this role operates at the intersection of business process improvement and enterprise technology. IT Technical & Business Analyst also works behind the scenes to evaluate data architecture, integrations, system capabilities, and technical dependencies while partnering closely with Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Integration Services, Information Security, and software vendors to deliver scalable solutions.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is an experienced Technical or Business Systems Analyst who enjoys solving business problems through technology rather than simply administering software. They are equally comfortable facilitating conversations with business leaders, analyzing technical system dependencies, and coordinating cross-functional implementation efforts. Candidates often come from HRIS, ERP, Learning Management, Workforce Management, or Enterprise Applications backgrounds and possess experience working with complex enterprise platforms—even if they have not previously worked with UKG/Kronos, HighQ, OrgChart, or Absorb.

Successful candidates understand how enterprise applications interact across the broader technology ecosystem and excel at translating business objectives into scalable technical solutions. They are naturally curious, highly collaborative, and motivated by helping business partners maximize the value of technology through thoughtful analysis, strong customer service, effective training, and disciplined project execution.

Worksite Arrangement: HNI members work onsite four days a week (M-Th) and remotely on Fridays. This role would preferably work from our IT building in Muscatine, IA . However, we are open to candidates working from one of our corporate locations in Glen Ellyn, IL; Jasper, IN; or Grand Rapids, MI. Relocation assistance is available for a qualified candidate willing to relocate to one of these locations, but we may not able to consider candidates seeking a fully-remote work arrangement.

An Information Technologies role at HNI provides the opportunity to make a significant organizational impact and offers great potential for growth and development across a large organization for many years to come.
