Job description

Description

 Virtucom is seeking Hardware Computer Repair Technicians to join our new team in Naperville, Illinois. This full-time, in-person opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to gain hands-on experience in IT hardware repair and support. As a Hardware Computer Repair Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and restoring the functionality of various devices such as laptops and Chromebooks, ensuring quality service and customer satisfaction.


Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full time position)

Work Location: In-person at Virtucom's Naperville Facility

We are currently in the process of getting our Naperville Facility setup and this is the pre opening recruitment. We plan to have our facility open no later than the end of Q2, 2026.

Requirements

Duties:

  • Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop computers, including hardware and software issues
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software, and drivers
  • Inspect and identify cosmetic and functional defects; document and report findings
  • Disassemble and reassemble devices using hand tools to replace or repair components (e.g., motherboards, bezels, keyboards)
  • Clean and adjust mechanical parts to ensure equipment runs efficiently and reliably
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and ticket resolutions in ticketing systems
  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
  • Communicate with leadership regarding inventory levels and part requests
  • Stay current with repair procedures, quality standards, and service-level agreements (SLAs)


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in computer repair (professional or DIY experience considered)
  • Strong understanding of PC architecture and operating systems (Windows, Chrome OS)
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Comfortable lifting and moving equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow instructions
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding repair output expectations and SLAs
  • Preferred: CompTIA A+ certification or currently pursuing certification
