Job description

Job Summary

Vanteon is seeking applicants for senior-level hardware roles, including as Principal Hardware Engineer and Senior Principal Hardware Engineer. The specific level will be dependent on the applicant's level of experience. In general, this role is responsible for planning the architecture and development of high-speed hardware design. Experience with RF design is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities

The following is a list of expected duties to be involved with the position. It is not fully inclusive, and additional ones may be assigned as determined by management:

  • Board-level high-speed digital design and schematic capture
  • Digital system architecture development & partitioning
  • Analyze systems for developing System Requirement Specifications
  • Develop detailed designs and technical documentation
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior level engineers
  • Provide project estimates and technical support for the Sales Process
  • Collaborate with other engineers in design and integration efforts.
Required Specialized Skills/Knowledge
  • Understanding high-speed PCB design and EMC compliance issues
  • Design for Testability and Manufacturing
  • System and Timing Analysis
  • Extensive experience with Altium Designer
  • FPGA design experience (100K+ Gates)
  • Expertise in digital systems
  • Experience designing with Bluetooth, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and flash memory
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Project leadership skills
  • Highly motivated, well-organized self-starter
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (MS Preferred)
  • 10 years of hardware design experience
Other Requirements
  • Training and regular duties require a regular in-office presence. Hybrid/flexible scheduling available based on business needs.
  • Although minimal, some circumstances may require a weekly commitment above 40 hours or hours outside of regular business hours.
  • Please note that all offers for hire are contingent on passing e-verify, background and drug screenings. In addition, you must be able to work with ITAR and CUI data.

Compensation Range

Although a candidate's specific compensation will depend highly on their specific skills and experience, the anticipated compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000, plus a competitive benefits package.

Position is eligible for a variety of bonuses including client referrals, employee referral, publications, and extra effort.


Due to contractual requirements, if hired you will be required to pass both a background and drug screening.
