Position Summary

We are a leading provider of telecommunications. As a Network Engineer Intern, you will be a vital part of our team, gaining hands-on experience in the management and maintenance of network operations hardware. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills in network connectivity, datacenter network systems, and telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Network Operations:

  • Initial point of contact for escalation issues for connectivity and network performance.
  • Provision and deploy network equipment and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Communicate and work with other technical teams to design effective solutions, identify technical requirements, and develop project plans to execute the delivery of the solution.
  • Support in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues related to network and server equipment.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance and updates, following established procedures.
  • Assist in conducting regular audits of network operations assets and inventory.

Network Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Monitor network performance and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
  • Help maintain network security protocols, including monitoring access logs and enforcing security policies.
  • Support network testing, ensuring system integrity and availability.
  • Plan and estimate projects and track progress using software applications including Jira, Cherwell, Smartsheet, etc
  • Constantly learn new technologies and skills via media, courses, or new applications
  • Wireless network design and support

Facility Management Support:

  • Assist in data center cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.
  • Support the documentation and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documentation.
  • Participate in the maintenance of fire suppression, HVAC, and other critical systems within the facility.

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Work closely with network operations staff to learn best practices and operational procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of network operations.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned, including data analysis and process improvement initiatives.
