Job description

Job Summary:
The Fall Manufacturing Engineer Co-op will assist the Manufacturing Engineering Department with production activities. Primary work involves using SolidWorks CAD software to design tools and fixtures for manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Education: Student enrolled in a four-year degree program, majoring in Engineering who has    completed their freshman year of college.
  • Experience: Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD software.
  • Must be willing to work 3 or more rotating semesters.

Other functions include:
 
  • Tooling and production method development
  • Material storage analysis and improvement
  • Collection and analysis of labor / machinery productivity and efficiency data
  • Machine tool set up reduction

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Experience in or knowledge of metal cutting
  • Experience in or knowledge of metal cutting processes / machinery.
