Position description:
JTEC Consulting is hiring individuals with experience in quantum physics with specific experience in architecture evaluation and related fields/technologies to work in support of a cutting-edge federal government program. We anticipate ongoing hiring needs in this area.
Qualified candidates should have experience and knowledge in development and simulation techniques related to operation of fault-tolerant quantum computers, to include, but not limited to resource-state distillation, logical algorithm layouts, and logical gate execution. The focus includes the analysis of alternatives and improvements to feasibility of techniques (different qubit modalities, etc.). Demonstrated ability to review and analyze research and reports in this area of study relating to quantum computing and qubit technologies is required.
Research Consultants will have the ability to envision and articulate new areas of research, exploration, and avenues for novel approaches. This is a dynamic environment and requires team members to be comfortable with leading efforts, providing guidance, and transitioning those efforts for future development, while still monitoring and engaging in ongoing progress. The ability to function as a technical leader (non-supervisory) is strongly desired as is the ability to articulate concepts and work with clarity and professionalism.
Role and responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical support and expertise for quantum computing devices.
  • Assimilate and integrate technical inputs from internal / external organizations and analyze technical deliverables and reports.
  • Conduct technical writing and material for presentation.
  • Conduct independent reviews and summaries of related technical literature and emerging technologies and participate in technical exchanges and workshops related to program technical areas.
  • Develop and document testing methodology and protocols, ensuring they align with program technology components.
  • Coordinate, align, and schedule technology development tasks and perform continuous analysis of technical progress in comparison to planned cost and schedule.
  • Perform technical and programmatic risk analysis/review and tracking.
Qualified candidate will have experience in one or more of these research areas:
  • Quantum Architecture Evaluation
  • Quantum Information Science technologies
  • Fault Tolerant Quantum Computing/Quantum Error Correction (desired)
  • Noise modeling in STIM circuits (desired)
  • Quantum Characterization Verification and Validation techniques (desired)
Program Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance
  • PhD in Physics or related field; qualified candidates with a master's degree in a related discipline will be considered
  • A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience and/or research experience; experience in related research activity will be considered
  • At least one publication in a related subject
  • Expertise in quantum information theory
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment
  • Ability to accurately convey technical and scientific issues to people with varying levels of expertise
  • Ability to write concisely
  • Persuasive speaking/writing skills
  • Position requirements include (but are not limited to):
