POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Technician at WLB Group an LJA Surveying company, you will be responsible for drafting support for assigned projects independently with working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
  • Process conventional field notes and digitally collected data, analyze field data, and interact with survey field crews.
  • Use survey data for the creation of survey plats, Sketches, and exhibits including surveys for builder services (vacant, form board, foundation, and final surveys)
  • Create Survey Control Data Sheets, Survey Control Index Sheets, Horizontal & Vertical Control Sheets
  • Compute data points for construction layout
  • Understand technical survey requirements and specifications of the State of Florida standards of practice
  • Write/check Metes & Bounds Descriptions

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-5 years of survey experience
  • CADD experience is required
  • Civil 3D
  • Trimble Business Center experience preferred
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Attention to detail, organized
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work well in a team-focused environment
  • Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project need
