The Role

We are partnering with a manufacturing organization in Brantford to hire an OCAD Designer for a short-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with strong CAD design experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working independently when required.


The successful candidate will support production and operational workflows through CAD design updates, ERP coordination, and system accuracy while collaborating cross-functionally with internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and maintain technical drawings and design documentation using OCAD/CAD software
  • Support manufacturing and operational teams with design modifications and production-related documentation
  • Maintain accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), item data, routings, and related system information
  • Assist with ERP system updates and data integrity within JDE and related systems
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support production flow and project timelines
  • Generate reports and provide administrative/design support to operations as needed
  • Review and verify drawings, specifications, and data for accuracy and completeness
  • Work independently to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process updates where applicable
  • Follow all workplace health & safety policies and procedures


Requirements

  • Education or training related to Design, Drafting, CAD, or a similar technical discipline
  • Experience using CAD/OCAD software within a professional environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as JDE is considered an asset
  • Previous experience within manufacturing or industrial environments is an asset but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
