Description
The Academic Center Student Worker provides clerical support in Excel and hospitality to ensure students are greeted and directed to the appropriate staff or resources as they enter. This position is designated for student employment and is anticipated to begin at the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the welcoming environment by greeting all visitors, providing information, and directing them to the appropriate staff and or resources.
  • Accurately record and compile bi-weekly peer tutoring log information and enter into computer.
  • Assist with collection of peer tutor paperwork including logs and timesheets.
  • Maintain supplies in Academic Center including making coffee, printer paper etc.
  • Make coffee when needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with student events in the Academic Center such as Academic Seminars
  • Create flyers in Word or Publisher.
  • Assist students with use of computers and academic needs where appropriate.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Typical Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal skills and comfortable approaching new people and welcoming them to the Academic Center
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Current PreMajor, Freshman or Sophomore student at TSCT.
  • Prior related work experience helpful, but not required

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
