Job description

Title: 3D CAD Drafter / Designer

Location: Quakertown

Plastic Dip Moldings, Inc. is seeking a full time CAD Drafter / Designer. A manufacturing company based in Quakertown, we are currently seeking a highly-organized, detail-oriented, dedicated team player.

The candidate will perform a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing/updating drawings and models for projects and preparing manufacturing drawings.

Full training in our process and design parameters will be given.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D CAD drawings/models for custom products using Solidworks.
  • Design for manufacture – produce manufacturable parts in line with our molding process
  • Work with customers to look for suitable existing parts within our own catalogue
  • Make revisions to existing drawings as requested by customers including revision and completion Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
  • Create drawings from simple existing parts
  • Create drawings from customer sketches
  • Adhere to quality system requirements and record control.

Qualifications and skills required.

· Proficient in CAD software - experience utilizing CAD Software, SolidWorks Preferred.

· Enthusiasm and curiosity for solving problems and understanding how things work.

· Able to interpret drawing/blueprints and replicate using Cad.

· Good written and verbal communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate

· Previous experience working in drafting and manufacturing.

· Experience or knowledge of Mastercam or other Cam software

· Ability to measure accurately using gauges etc.

· Computer skills: Basic Word, Excel knowledge; file folder navigation.

· Knowledge of basic machining and engineering fundamentals.

· Any experience in molding or mold design
