What You Will Do
This opportunity is intended for graduate students with interests in physics, applied mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related technical disciplines. Students will gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary national laboratory environment while contributing to research that supports the Laboratory's national security mission.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interest in computational science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or related STEM fields.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills..
  • Interest in numerical modeling, simulation, scientific computing, or computational research.

Education Requirements:.
Graduate Students: Must be enrolled in an accredited graduate program in a STEM-related field.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Coursework or project experience in computational physics, fluid dynamics, mechanics, applied mathematics, or computer science.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, research, or team-based technical environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments or high-performance computing systems.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for scientific research.

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
