Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Computational Research Assistant (Seasonal) for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the School of Engineering.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Leverages advanced AI/ML to build predictive models for the environmental impacts of hydroclimate extremes, such as severe storms, droughts, and heatwaves.
• Manages Big Data analytics involving remote sensing and climate/hydrologic model outputs to develop new predictive workflows.
• Maintains the codebase on GitHub and present progress at weekly group meetings.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong background in AI/ML.
• Proficiency in Python and data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience in the field.
