Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is actively seeking Full-time Intake Psych Registered Nurses for both day and night shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a).

Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Intake Nurse is responsible to screen patient admissions and communicate information to the physician to determine if patient meets level of care. The Intake Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by evaluating the needs of both walk-in patients and those calling in. This position will actively participate in department meetings, engage in quality initiatives, and ensure that all services align with TJC standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preform Nursing Assessments for inpatient programs.
  • Cross train other RNs.
  • Participate in medical emergencies.
  • Conduct Clinical Assessments.
  • Medication Management.
  • Accurate documentation and calls.
  • Crisis intervention.
  • Health education to patients/families.
  • Insurance verifications
  • Completing Comprehensive Assessment via phone

Requirements

Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing either through ADN, Diploma or BSN Program

Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing

Experience: 1 year experience as a RN in Behavioral Health.

Certifications: CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications obtained 30 days from hire
