Job description

Compliance Team Manager - Customs & Trade (Americas Region)
Full-time | Assurance | Location - Olathe, KS
Are you a compliance expert who thrives on getting into the details but also has a passion for mentoring others? TVH is looking for a Hands-on Compliance Team Lead to spearhead our Americas compliance regional operations.
This is a unique "Player-Coach" role designed for a leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You will be the primary technical authority for Americas compliance while leading a high-performing team. Reporting into our global structure-specifically to the Global Customs & Trade Compliance Manager or the VP Assurance in Belgium-you will bridge the gap between global compliance principles and regional strategy and execution.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the regional team-yourself, a compliance expert and advisor, plus several indirect compliance stakeholders-overseeing day-to-day compliance operations.
  • Foster an open, constructive, and proactive team spirit across the Americas region.
  • Hire, coach, and appraise team members to ensure a positive, performant culture reflecting TVH's values.
  • Translate applicable regional regulation and global compliance frameworks (e.g. Customs & Trade, Product) into implementable regional policies and procedures.
  • Act as the regional authority and key point of contact for complex compliance requirements and cases, providing solution-oriented advice to stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely escalation, both in the Americas region and within the Assurance function.
  • Identify, investigate, and report on compliance requirements, risks, findings and trends (e.g. C-TPAT, Export Control, Origin Management).
  • Identify bottlenecks in current governance and implement improvements to ensure TVH conducts business effectively, efficiently and with integrity.
  • Suggest and support in building and strengthening Americas processes and controls to reduce compliance risk.
  • Participate in and coordinate specific projects, ensuring compliance parameters are met from definition to delivery.
  • Actively promote compliance awareness across all levels of the Americas organization.
  • Report into our global structure-specifically to the Global Customs & Trade Compliance Manager or the VP Assurance in Belgium.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Minimum of 5 years in international trade and compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of customs regulations, internal controls, risk management, and monitoring techniques.
  • Customs broker license and/or experience with product compliance is considered a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of the Google Suite and able to quickly adapt to global compliance reporting tools and global trade management tools.
  • Solution-oriented mindset-you don't just find problems, you come up with simple solutions to complex regulatory hurdles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to report US metrics clearly and respectfully to America leadership and global Assurance leadership in Belgium.
  • Proven ability to manage overlapping priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
You'll be part of a people-centric culture where your well-being truly matters. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with unique perks like an onsite health clinic and an exceptional dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 6%.
At our headquarters, you'll enjoy an onsite preschool, a full-service restaurant, and access to an onsite gym to help you stay active and energized. We also foster connection through regular team events and a collaborative, welcoming environment.
We also offer:
  • Opportunities for professional development, including access to LinkedIn Learning and a variety of in-house and external training programs.
  • The chance to grow both personally and professionally in a dynamic, scale-up environment, backed by the strength and stability of a global company.
