Summary of Position:

The Senior Program Manager will provide strategic and tactical guidance on enhancing the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of various foundational elements within PG&E’s compliance program framework. You will apply deep technical knowledge of compliance, risk management, and quality assurance to ensure consistent interpretation and application of compliance program maturity standards across Electric Compliance sub-functions and key partner teams. You partner closely with Electric leaders to evaluate compliance maturity performance, perform gap analyses to identify gaps and develop mitigation plans. You lead key compliance management workstreams that enable Electric coworkers to conduct business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards, and to identify, manage, and mitigate risk. You will help strengthen Electric’s compliance program by guiding program development, monitoring, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and hands-on support to Electric sub-functions to strengthen and mature the compliance program and improve performance;
  • Develop innovative tools and solutions to support/improve compliance program maturity
  • Assess Electric sub-function compliance programs;
  • Perform compliance validation activities and testing controls for design and operating effectiveness;
  • Supports the development and implementation of Electric’s Compliance Controls Program by providing expert advisory support to cross-functional partners (operations, engineering, SMEs, compliance support teams) to strengthen controls, evidence capture, process consistency, and develop compliance metrics;
  • Leads or supports maintaining a complete and accurate inventory of regulatory requirements, including identifying requirement owners, and mapping requirement to guidance documents, controls, and trainings;
  • Performs and oversees analysis of compliance metrics, evidence, and documentation to identify gaps, trends, and areas for improvement;
  • Develops and/or supports maintenance of guidance documents, procedures, templates, and job aids that support compliance maturity;
  • Identifies new or changing regulatory, operational, or risk concerns that may impact maturity expectations and recommends updates to programs or tools;
  • Conducts and supports compliance reviews with Electric sub-function leaders, facilitating compliance assessments and recommending corrective actions aligned to regulatory requirements and risk priorities;
  • Prepares and delivers clear, executive-ready reports and briefings on compliance maturity performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement;
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on compliance program maturity practices, supporting knowledge sharing/benchmarking across the organization;
  • Evaluate and analyze regulatory requirement and internal commitment challenges to determine extent of condition and remediation efforts;
  • Develop and present program challenges and program improvement recommendations to directors and officers;
  • Works independently with minimal guidance on complex risk and compliance issues with critical impact;
  • Develops and coordinates preparation of presentation materials for various levels of management up to and including senior vice president;
  • Works autonomously with all levels of leadership (up to and including senior vice president) across functions to influence decisions around risk and compliance issues;
  • Leads and develops materials for training and educating coworkers about compliance management principles; and
  • Assist with other compliance-related projects and activities as directed.
