Job description

Job Title: Youth Sports Instructor (Ages 3-5)

Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, patient, and enthusiastic Sports Instructor to lead fun, age-appropriate sports and movement activities for young children. The instructor will introduce basic sports skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity in a safe and nurturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structured, play-based sports and movement classes for children ages 3 - 5.
  • Teach fundamental motor skills (running, jumping, throwing, kicking, balance, coordination)
  • Introduce basic rules and concepts of sports such as soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and general fitness games
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
  • Ensure the safety of children at all times and follow established safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding class activities and child progress
  • Set up and clean up equipment before and after classes
  • Maintain attendance records and report any incidents or concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children (teaching, coaching, childcare, or recreation)
  • Passion for youth sports, fitness, and child development; specific to soccer, lacrosse or basketball.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage small groups of children with patience and positivity
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background check clearance (required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or coursework in education, kinesiology, child development, or related field
  • Coaching or teaching certification thru college experience or previous employment.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate basic sports movements
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and move actively for class duration
  • Ability to lift and carry light equipment

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time / flexible hours (weekend availability).
  • Competitive pay per class based on experience.
