Job description

Artisan Partners is seeking an intellectually curious Competitive Intelligence Associate to support Global Distribution by translating industry, product and competitor data into actionable insights. The role combines competitive intelligence, market analysis, product strategy and sales enablement to inform commercial and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to:
  • Monitor industry trends, asset flows, vehicle adoption, pricing, consultant themes, channel dynamics and competitor activity across public and private market strategies
  • Analyze Artisan investment strategies relative to peers using industry databases and third-party research platforms, including Morningstar Direct, Nasdaq eVestment and similar resources
  • Develop competitive positioning analyses that translate investment, peer, performance, fee and flow data into actionable insights for senior Distribution and business stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted partner to senior sales professionals by providing concise, commercially relevant market and competitor intelligence
  • Prepare and maintain executive, board and governance reporting for mutual funds, UCITS, private funds and other vehicles, ensuring quality, consistency and efficient production
  • Contribute to strategic projects evaluating product gaps, vehicle opportunities, launch prioritization, share class strategy, benchmark selection and pricing competitiveness
  • Partner with Finance, Investment Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Legal/Compliance and Data teams to provide an objective, data-driven perspective on decisions affecting growth and client experience
  • Improve and automate competitive intelligence, research and reporting workflows, including responsible use of approved AI tools while maintaining appropriate controls, human review, confidentiality and compliance standards
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
  • 4-8+ years of relevant experience in asset management, investment research, competitive intelligence, product strategy, consultant relations, distribution analytics or a related financial services role
  • Strong investment and business judgment, including familiarity with performance, risk, flows, fees, peer groups, benchmarks and investment vehicles across public and private markets
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured financial data, including market data, research, filings, portfolio information and client content
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct and/or Nasdaq eVestment is highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, writing and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear business implications
  • Strong relationship-building skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders across Sales, Investment Strategy, Finance, Marketing and executive teams
  • High intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Progress toward or completion of the CFA designation is a plus
  • Experience with executive materials, product positioning, pricing analysis, consultant databases and/or AI-assisted research and workflow automation is preferred

Salary Range: $100,000-$165,000
Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual's geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.
