Job description

The Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager will build and run PagerDuty's competitive intelligence program that serves as the internal authority on competitive dynamics, equipping sales teams with sharp differentiation, timely insights and effective strategies to win. You will report directly to the Senior Director of PMM Operations and will partner tightly with product marketing, product management, marketing, field enablement and sellers.

Key Responsibilities  
  • Define, execute, optimize the competitive intelligence program through feedback and engagement with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and the field. 
  • Equip sales team with key positioning and messaging - via battlecards, bulletins, internal training and enablement - to successfully navigate competitor activity as part of the sales process
  • Uncover competitive differentiation and have thorough knowledge of Win/Loss and competitor capabilities and claims
  • Monitor and assess competitor activity and report back to stakeholders and/or field in a timely manner
  • Train field teams regularly on latest competitor intelligence and strategies to win
  • Work with product and PMM team to articulate messaging, and approaches for GTM success
  • Provide independent view of win/loss via external interview program and reports back to Product, PMM and Marketing leadership
  • Speed and improve research and content delivery with AI and automation tools
Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep fluency in IT and Digital Operations
  • Track record of at least 5+ years of leading competitive intelligence for a product or product lines; SaaS B2B strongly preferred
  • Field focused, and obsessed with giving them the best messages, tools and approaches to differentiate PagerDuty
  • You excel at framing problems, balancing trade-offs, and synthesizing clear solutions
  • Ability to plan work, drive through ambiguity, and deliver timely, high-quality content
  • Ability to organize complex information, simplify, articulate essentials, and inspire the field
  • Desire to work with AI tools to automate and improve intelligence and content delivery
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep fluency in the IT and Digital Operations 
  • Fluency in SRE and DevOps domain 
  • Technical aptitude - ability to have deeper conversations with engineers

The base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 - $220,000.00 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
