The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Envision Pharma Group as Director, Competitive Intelligence. In this pivotal role, you will play a central role in shaping strategic decisions for some of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotech organisations, delivering insights that directly influence clinical development, launch strategy, and commercial success.
Recognised for delivering high-impact, decision-ready intelligence to senior leaders across the life sciences industry, as a senior member of the team, you will operate as both a trusted strategic advisor and commercial leader, building enduring client partnerships, originating new opportunities, and designing intelligence programmes that address complex, high-value business challenges.

You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, translating evolving clinical, competitive, and market dynamics into clear, actionable insights that shape strategy and drive competitive advantage. At the same time, you will play a key role in expanding our client base, evolving our capabilities, and strengthening our position as a market leader in Competitive Intelligence.
If you are a commercially minded Competitive Intelligence leader who thrives in a consultative, entrepreneurial environment and is motivated by the opportunity to build, influence, and drive meaningful impact, this role offers the platform to do so within a growing, highly respected business.
This great role can be based remotely from either the US or UK.
How will you make an impact at Envision Pharma Group?

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing compelling proposals and leading contract negotiations.
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying unmet client needs and translating them into new engagements.
  • Provide senior leadership across client engagements, ensuring strategic alignment, quality, and impact of all deliverables.
  • Contribute to the evolution and expansion of Competitive Intelligence offerings, bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to identify new service opportunities.

Engagement Delivery & Advisory
  • Lead the design and delivery of strategic Competitive Intelligence programmes, including:
    • Clinical landscape assessments
    • Commercial benchmarking and competitor analysis
    • Competitive monitoring and intelligence reporting
    • Competitive simulation workshops
    • KOL insight research
    • Launch planning and readiness assessments
  • Serve as a senior strategic advisor, providing clear, actionable insights into clinical development, commercial strategy, and competitive positioning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders with credibility and authority.
  • Ensure programmes deliver meaningful, decision-ready insights that support client clinical, commercial, and portfolio strategy.

Thought Leadership & Market Insight
  • Contribute to and shape Envision's Competitive Intelligence thought leadership through publications, client engagements, and industry participation.
  • Monitor and interpret industry trends, including healthcare policy, reimbursement, clinical innovation, and commercial strategy.
  • Continuously refine Competitive Intelligence methodologies, frameworks, and best practices to strengthen our client impact and market positioning.

Do you have what we are looking for?
Skills & expertise
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MSc) preferred.
  • Significant experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, including extensive experience in Competitive Intelligence, consulting, or strategic insights roles.
  • Proven track record of business development success, including originating opportunities, building senior client relationships, and closing engagements.
  • Deep expertise in Competitive Intelligence, with the ability to translate complex clinical and commercial developments into clear strategic insights.
  • Strong executive presence, with experience advising and presenting to senior pharmaceutical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver integrated Competitive Intelligence programmes supporting clinical development, launch planning, and commercial strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to operate effectively in a "seller-doer" capacity.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, medical, market access, and clinical stakeholders.
