This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing compensation decisions, driving process improvements, and providing expert guidance to HR and business leaders. If you have a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of compensation practices across Canada and the U.S., we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Compensation Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing compensation programs across the organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and continuously improving compensation programs, policies, and practices to align with organizational goals and market trends.
  • Conducting job evaluations and determining appropriate job classifications and salary grades for new and existing positions.
  • Maintaining job descriptions, job codes, and related compensation documentation.
  • Providing trusted, data-driven compensation guidance to HR teams and business leaders, including recommendations for new hires, promotions, and other compensation decisions.
  • Supporting annual compensation activities, including salary reviews, incentive programs, bonus administration, and variable pay processes.
  • Managing compensation-related initiatives such as market pricing, pay equity, and job evaluation programs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in compensation surveys and performing market benchmarking to maintain competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Analyzing compensation data, preparing reports and presentations, and delivering meaningful insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Developing and documenting compensation processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Assisting with compensation communications, training initiatives, and the rollout of new programs and processes.
  • Serving as an internal subject matter expert by providing ongoing support and creative solutions for complex compensation matters.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years focused specifically on compensation.
  • Hands-on experience with job evaluation, market pricing, and compensation analysis.
  • Knowledge of pay equity principles and compensation best practices is highly desirable.
  • CCP designation, or progress toward achieving it, is preferred. CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and compensation systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations.
Why This Opportunity?

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on compensation strategy while partnering with leaders across the business. You'll join a collaborative environment where your expertise will influence important talent decisions and contribute to building fair, competitive, and engaging compensation programs.

If you're an experienced compensation professional who enjoys balancing analytics with strategic business support and is looking for your next contract opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
