Job Description:
As a Commercial Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing ground-up commercial construction projects from inception through closeout, ranging from $250,000 to $5 million.
This role is designed for an experienced Project Manager who is interested in growing into a Senior Project Manager position. During the initial onboarding period, you'll focus on learning Hanna Design Group's processes, systems, and project delivery approach while successfully managing your own projects. Based on performance, demonstrated leadership, and overall fit, there is an opportunity to transition into a Senior Project Manager role, which includes expanded leadership responsibilities, increased compensation, and bonus opportunities.
This is an in-office role based in Aurora, IL, with the potential for a hybrid work schedule based on performance and project needs. Regular travel (approximately 33%) to job sites across the country is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of ground-up commercial construction projects.
- Maintain detailed schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change order logs.
- Coordinate subcontractors and project teams to meet deadlines and budget goals.
- Ensure project closeout aligns with client requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to monitor job progress, ensure safety compliance, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate closely with company leadership to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate the leadership, communication, and decision-making skills necessary to grow into a Senior Project Manager role.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple commercial construction projects ranging from $250,000–$5 million.
- Experience leading project teams, coordinating subcontractors, and building strong client relationships.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor others or demonstrate leadership potential is highly valued.
- Procore experience preferred.
- Comfortable traveling approximately 33%.
- Ability to commute to or relocate to Aurora, IL.
- Experience working with national commercial brands is a plus.

Total Compensation
- Project Manager starting compensation: Estimated total compensation of $100,000–$150,000, including a competitive base salary and performance-based bonus structure.
- Bonus Potential: Performance-based bonuses with opportunity for significant earnings
- Profit Sharing: Potential annual profit-sharing opportunities
- 401(k) Plan: 4% employer match after one year of service (eligibility begins on the first day of the following quarter)
- Growth Opportunity: Based on performance, successful candidates may be promoted to Senior Project Manager after approximately three months. The Senior Project Manager role includes increased base compensation and an enhanced bonus structure tied to both individual project performance and leadership responsibilities.
